stinkhorns in my lawn
Stinkhorns frequently bewilder people by popping up in lawns, thrusting their slime-covered tips into the world within a matter of hours. They have been much maligned over the years, probably because--well, because they stink and they often look like penises (human, canine, or alien). Unlike other mushrooms, the stinkhorn distributes its spores by applying an odorous, spore-thick slime to its tip, which flies and other insects are attracted to. The flies then carry the spores to other places.

happy fall yall
so the summer was really rainy and humid, we had an earthquake which made me seasick for a while and a hurricane which ran straight up the Hudson river and really did some damage.
The garden did better than one would imagine but still i would say produced at about 30 percent. Most of our fall crops are gone due to either deer or blight besides turnips and broccoli, if it starts to get dry i will sow some greens and feed the voles!
Climbing was slow as conditions were shit and i had allot of construction work going on. We had many fun trips to our new swimming hole at dug road, nice and peaceful....ice cream afterwards!
Not too much artwork being made as most artful events in my life lately have been moments of noticing.
Now we are getting ready for winter, got maybe 2.5 cords of wood and am watching heating oil prices like a hawk.
Very excited for my homies new baby to come....seems like we all got one....oldies907

Time to get sappy
My buddy lent me a couple buckets and taps, i drilled a 5/16 hole about an inch and a half into the tree and inserted the taps and hung the buckets from them. A week or so later we had enough to boil down on the stove in a cast iron pot. We got a little under a quart from maybe a gallon and a half of sap. The sweetest syrup i ever tasted. If you got maple trees i recommend giving it a try! los
